Individual Therapy

“I want you to get excited about who you are, what you are, what you have, and what can still be for you. I want to inspire you to see that you can go far beyond where you are right now.”

- Virginia Satir

All positive change begins with recognizing your own power to make a difference in your life. Start by truly accepting things as they are, and then identify where you have the ability to make meaningful changes. Deep inside, you already have the knowledge needed to navigate your own unique path and overcome your challenges and barriers. I am here to support you in discovering this inner knowledge and to help you find clarity and strength to live your life as fully as possible.

“We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection.”

- Brene Brown.

Couples and Relationship Therapy

"Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves."

- Brene Brown

The real reason for you to come together in intimate relationships is to grow and learn who and what you are as a human being. No one can challenge you better as your partner. We are here to evolve together and support each other to be our best versions of ourselves. There are ways to be together with understanding and positive communication with which we can best support each other. We all exist in relationship to each other, and our beings and hearts are deeply connected to one another. There are so many blessings in our relationships if we develop the capacity to find them and nurture what is good in our connection with one another. We can learn to turn towards each other instead of away from each other, and cultivate deep nourishing intimacy and passion with each other. I am here to help you heal your relationship, renew your agreements, and create the relationship you are longing for.

"Communication is to relationships what breath is to life."

- Virginia Satir

Family & Child Therapy

“The greatest gift of family life is to be intimately acquainted with people you might never even introduce yourself to, had life not done it for you.”

- Kendall Hailey

I have extensive experience in working with families,  parents, children, and youth. Structured Family Systems Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that treats the family as a unit, where each individual plays a vital role. It is based on the premise that when something affects one member, it impacts every other family member as well. Similarly, the strength and stability of the family unit can provide crucial support when one member needs help. This therapy also considers intergenerational, social, community, and cultural factors that influence individuals and families.

In our sessions, we will explore through play, art making, role play, and dialogue to help you understand your patterns, your family’s dynamics and systems, and learn new ways to communicate, connect, and grow as a family or as individual family members.

“Promise me you’ll always remember — you’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

- Christopher Robin from Winnie the Pooh

Art Therapy

“Art speaks where words are unable to explain.”

– Pam Hollan

Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate. Art therapists are trained professionals with expertise in counselling psychology and fine arts. Art therapy engages all the senses to relax the nervous system. Art making causes a shift from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system, which results in improved self regulation, anxiety reduction, feeling more in control, improved executive functioning, and acceptance and integration within the whole self.

I have a Master's Degree in  Art Therapy, and a BA in Visual Arts. I am a registered Art Therapist member with the Canadian Art Therapy Association.

“I could say things with colour and shape that I couldn’t’ say any other way – things I had no words for…”

– Margaret Naumburg
